Why do we hold onto family recipes and pass them along to subsequent generations? Is it out of tradition, pride, or passing the gauntlet?

I would be very excited to write for your “favorite recipe” blog.
As a stay-at-home mom, with busy kids, as well as a freelance writer that writes about nutrition and health, I’ve made it my mission to find tasty, healthy, simple (has to be simple) dinners that I can have ready in between school and activities. I refuse to stop at fast-food joints every night.
I would say my tone will be upbeat and personal. I also like using organic ingredients, so I have that to add. I just made a fantastic pumpkin cake with cream cheese icing (a recipe I intend to share) that was so moist it put pound cake to shame – but I used grapeseed oil and applesauce versus butter to make it more health friendly. My entire family loved it. I had two pieces, and I’m not a cake fan!
